I Know I Have a lot of Explaining to Do…

but, I won’t talk. I’ll just DO.

DO eat right - that means no sugar, no fried foods, no junk in general.

DO drink water. 64 oz per day - no excuses.

DO exercise - at least 30 min per day to start.

I CAN do this!!!!

Fell Off the Wagon

Gained about 3 pounds. Gotta get this in check. Ugh…

I Didn’t Realize

I didn’t realize that my kids are off school today. Oy! Heaven help me!!! What will we do? Last night I gave in to the baking craving and we baked a chocolate cake (yes with chocolate frosting). I had some. Ugh…self-sabotage is rearing its ugly head. Plus I’m smack dab in the middle of my cycle. I crave two things during this time of the month: one is chocolate and there other is…well…you know.

Anyhow, never fear we’ll take care of the rest of that pesky chocolate cake by the end of today for sure.

I’ll be doing double time on my workouts today: elliptical and I’m going to attempt the Turbo Jam 20 minute workout today too. I’ll let you know how that goes.

I went to bed last night weighing 123 (yikes) and woke up 120.4 (better). I wonder when I’ll finally get my act together to be consistent enough to actually move this scale in the right direction. My hubby keeps going on and on about how “skinny” I am. I like it, I admit it, but don’t you find that when you’re losing weight or have lost a significant amount of weight and people tell you don’t lose anymore, you get tempted to take their advice and stop before you reach your goal? I’m trying to block out the compliments because I just want to reach that goal darnit! I’d like to get down to 110 and have a maintainance range between 110 and 115.

Nevertheless, I press on…

Have a blessed day!

Going to be Working From Home!

I have found a way to make money from home. I’m going to be an at home customer service agent! I am nearly done upgrading my computer, and installing my separate phone line. After that I take the training course, and when I’m done - WALLA!!! I’ll be up and running and ready to take calls! My sister in law told me about this job and I’m so thankful to her for doing so.

My eating today was not so good. I had 2 cups of coffee and carrot wheat muffin and a falafel. I don’t even want to know how many calories were in that tastey falafel (We were at the mall at lunchtime). Oh, well, I’m not even going to stress it. I just have to make sure dinner is very low cal. I’m making pasta for the family but, I’ll probably have a salad with some beans thrown in and a small potatoe (no fixin’s of course!)

I have yet to workout. I should probably go do that now before Oprah and Dr. Phil (both are going to be good today).

Talk to you tomorrow!

Low-fat Vegetarian Diet

So I’m trying to do a low fat veggie diet to promote and facilitate my weight loss goals. I know in the diet world it’s all about the low carb lifestyle, but I’m here to say that there are still those of us that believe a diet high in good-for-you complex carbs and minimal protein can give you great results. The great thing about it is that there is no cholesterol!

I’m currently reading Dr. Dean Ornish’s Eat More, Weigh Less. I’m loving it so far and it’s making total sense. I’ve ordered The McDougall Program for Maximum Weight Loss by Dr. John McDougall. I hope to receive it by sometime next week. I’ll write my thoughts on that book when I’ve read it.

Anyhow, in Dr. Ornish’s book the program promotes a diet high in whole grains, vegetables, fruits and some non-fat dairy (the less the better). He stresses the importance of cutting out oils (yes, even the highly aclaimed olive oil), and meat products. He claims that eliminating these two things alone will produce great results.

I’m about half-way through the book, but I already can see this is a keeper. However, since it’s a library book, I won’t be keeping this copy, but will be buying my own as soon as possible.

Have a blessed day!

How Low Can I Go?

So. I’ve been thinking. I have lost all of my pregnancy weight and then another 10 pounds on top of that. How cool and utterly FANTASTIC would it be if I could lost another 10 pounds? It would be amazing!!!! I’m 121 and if I could be somewhere between 110 and 113 I’d be thrilled.

I’m trying to get back on track, because I’ve been so bad over the last month or so. I’ve been hitting the elliptical and drinking my water, but my eating habits are really slipping. This is not good especially with the holidays coming up. I am thinking that if I can get down to 110 before December 15, that would be great. So that gives me 1 month to lose 10 pounds.

I’ve got nothing to lose but, 10 pounds!!!!!!! Yay!!!

Getting Careless but, Haven’t Gained Any Weight

I have definitely gotten sidetracked in my eating and exercise. I fortunately haven’t gained any weight back - YET!!!

I’m setting a small goal to workout on my ellipticaly for at least half hour per day, and get back to getting in my 64 oz of water per day.

I’ll check back in a few days…

At Goal

I woke up to 122.6 today. So I’m .6 over my goal weight. I am very happy about that. My smart alek sister said to me yesterday that she’s planning my intervention for anorexia. LOL…I so do NOT have an ED, lol I don’t have the willpower, lol. That’s her way of telling me she’s noticed my weight loss I guess. She is pregnant right now, so I’m sure she’s feeling a little sensitive about her weight. Ah well…

So, I’ve decided that I would like to get down to an even 115 and have a maintenance range between 115 and 120. I think I can definitely maintain that comfortably. At least I hope I can! Here is my game plan:

Step up my workouts: I want to do my elliptical 3x per week on the level 4 program - it’s only 30 minutes long, but it’s so intense! I burn 426 calories on it! Then do my Yoga Booty Ballet workouts on the alterate days. I wish I could do my Turbo Jam, however I hurt my foot a few weeks ago, and I need to let it heal better.

Try harder with my eating. This is a toughie. My nearly 12 month old son, nurses like a 3 month old, and so my body is still in high lactation mode. This coupled with intense workouts = HUNGER!!! So I need to be better at finding filling yet low cal healthy foods. Any suggestions? I’ve also got to do better at drinking my water and taking my supplements. I take a prenatal and I want to add in my fish oil and calcium. However, too many pills can be a little overwhelming.

Okay, so I’ve rambled on enough. Now I’ve made my plan - it’s time to WORK IT!!!!!

Update - Almost There..New Goal Maybe?

Hey Everyone,

I can’t believe how things can change in a month. I hit my 125 goal quite a few weeks ago (probably early Sept) and this morning was shocked and amazed to see 123.6 on the scale! Yes! Victory is near. However, I’m beginning to wonder if I should alter my goal. Losing weight has become almost fun! I said almost…it’s not easy, cutting back on food and making the effort to workout. However, maybe, just maybe I can pull off 118 pounds? Once I get to 122 on the nose I’ll do a serious re-evaluation. I’m also thrilled that my waist is almost 29 inches! My goal waist line measurement is a loose 28. We’ll see. Until then, I’ll keep hopping down this diet trail. Actually, scratch that. I’m not on a diet, this is a lifestyle!!

I’m Becoming a Loser

That is, I’m losing more weight!!! Yahoo!!! Sunday and Monday I woke up to 129.4 on the scale. Today, I woke up to 128.8!!! Yeeesssss!!!! I’m thrilled!!! I’m phyched! Whenever I lose a couple of pounds, it just makes me want to do better and work even harder! Nothing motivates you more to lose weight, than actually losing weight! Weight loss begets more weight loss, I guess.

So this week I’m working on:

1. Keeping up with my water - this has been so crucial for me. I don’t know exactly why but, it really works. I’ve been aiming at 64 oz per day.

2. Do my Turbo Sculpt DVD 2x this week. Building lean muscle mass increases your metabolic rate, so more muscle, more burn baby!!! I don’t want to be skinny and flabby, I want to be lean, tight and toned.

3. Eat in moderation. Be sure to include at least 2 fruit servings per day. No eating 3 hours before bed.

4. Continue with cardio workouts. I actually look forward to these now and miss them when I don’t do them.

I’m looking to be at 125 by the end of next week. We’ll see!!!
