Still Plugging Away

I haven’t updated in a bit, but I’m still fighting the good fight of weight loss. Unfortunately, I don’t have any loss to report however, since Aunt Flow showed her ugly face yesterday morning it explains my lack of a loss, despite my best efforts. At least I haven’t gained. I’ve been trying to keep my calories in check, exercising as much as feasible, and chugging back water like never before. I’m hoping to come out on the other end of my period with some good news and at least 2 pounds lighter. Here’s hoping…

My mom was over yesterday and she said to me that I look like I don’t need to lose any more weight. Well, she was shocked when I told her I wanted to lose at least 8 more, but would love to lose up to 15 more. She asked me why would I want to be so skinny. I just remember looking and feeling my best around the 115-118 range but will settle for 120-122. We’ll see how I look when I get to my ticker goal, and then I’ll re-assess.

I’m enjoying a nice lunch today. I’m eating a salad with: romaine lettuce, shredded carrots, english cucumber, avocado, topped with tuna and sundried tomato dressing drizzled on top (not too much!) Yummy!!! Who knew being healthy could taste soooo good!

Don’t Want to Exercise…

It’s hot and I don’t want to get sweaty (er). That’s not a good excuse is it? Alright, alright…off I go. Elliptical here I come, but only for 30 minutes you got that?

It’s a New Week!!!

Here I am! I had an interesting week last week. A couple of things happened (the nicest being that we took in a stray kitten). I got a little sidetracked, but didn’t gain any weight, PTL! We didn’t have (and still don’t) have the right groceries so my eating wasn’t on point. That will change this week. We’ll be doing the groceries soon, so I can stock up on healthy foods and start eating at home as opposed to eating out so much…

As for working out, I have to get back on track with that as well. I plan to do a half hour on the elliptical this afternoon during the baby’s naptime.

As for weaning - that’s not going to happen anytime soon. I’ll just have to continue nursing and trying to lose at the same time. I just can’t sacrifice his health for my desire to lose weight. It’s not like I’m carrying around my pregnancy weight still - I’m happy to have lost that…so these last 8 pounds will have to come off slowly but surely. I’m aiming for 1-2 pounds per week. Let’s see how it goes!!! Most of my old clothes are size 4 and are still snug, I’ve been buying 6’s lately and find that I look okay in it. I’m not giving up though…I’m just deciding to do this in a very controlled and reasonable way. I want to be a comfortable 4-6. And I don’t want to obsess about weight. I just want to look and feel my best.

I’m at my mini goal!!!

Yay!!! I’m 130 pounds!!! I’ve really buckled down and I’m being almost religious about my Turbo Jam workouts. Finally it is paying off! My waist is cinching in, and my arms and legs are getting so toned.

I still haven’t weaned my son, but probably will soon though. I really want to step up my program but, will need to wean beforehand.

Yay me!

It’s Been A While…

I am still fighting the fight though! I’ve just been going through a lengthy plateau. I am sorry to say this, but I blame breastfeeding for my plateau. My little man is almost 9 months old and while I’ve lost most of the pregnancy weight, I just can’t get below 132.4!!! Oh well, at least I’m not gaining…

I’m really starting to seriously consider weaning, though it breaks my heart, I’m anxious to get on with progress already. I just want to lose 10 more pounds!!!

I promise to update again tomorrow. Maybe I can get some good tips and motivation from some buddies. :)

Weight loss, goals, rethinking my goal weight.

So I’m down to 133.8 pounds! Yay me!!! When I got pregnant with my son (he’s now 6.5 months old) I weighed 130 so I’m pleased to know that most of my baby weight is gone. After I get to 130 I’ll be strictly in losing all of the “me” weight, lol. You know, the weight I gained by eating too much and not exercising, LOL! I never had a weight problem in my life so I have always eaten like there’s no consequence, well…that’s all CHANGED!!! LMBO!!!

Some goals this week:

1. Keep drinking water. (aiming for 64+ oz per day)

2. Elliptical, Yoga Booty Ballet or Turbo Jam on Monday, Wed, Fri. do a sculpt dvd on the alternate days.

3. Continue day weaning my son from the breast (NOT easy let me tell ya!)

4. Eat to live and not live to eat. Be sensible, watch my portions and enjoy my food.

5. Aim for more fresh, fruit and veggies.

I’m also rethinking my goal weight of 115 pounds. I know that I probably could get there, but I am wondering if I will be able to maintain it easily. Before my weight balloned up to 130 lbs I was easily maintaining 120-122 and I looked good and wore size 4-6 petite (I’m only 5′1). Also, my hubby likes me with a little more weight on. I was 97 pounds when he met and married me! So…I don’t know. Any input or advice?

Yay! I Lost Weight!!!!

Hard work really does pay off…duh!

134.6!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! Monday I think I weighed about 138. I’m so thrilled and even MORE motivated to stick with this!!!!

So far today I’ve had my oatmeal and a glass of OJ. I’m drinking water now. OH and of course I had my coffee, too. There’s not much food in my house so I’ve got to go do my groceries. I’ve put all healthy foods on the list. I’m not bringing any chips, cookies or sugary snacks into the house, no matter how much my kids whine.

Slow and Steady…

I think I’ve done pretty well for myself today (pats back). Today I’ve eaten:
Breakfast:
1 cup of coffee with splenda and light cream
1 bowl of oatmeal

Snack:
Apple

Lunch:
4 pieces of Melba toast with peanut butter
1.5 cups of mixed veggies

Snack:
Salad with romaine lettuce, green and red peppers drizzled with raspberry vinagrette
1 cup of Red Pommagranate Rooibus tea

Dinner:
Spagetti with 6 small meatballs, sauce and mixed veggies

Cup of coffee with splenda and light cream

Cup of cammomile tea.

In addition to that I drank over 70 oz of water (not including my tea and coffee)

For exercise today I did a half hour on the elliptical in the morning and I did my Yoga Booty Ballet workout in the evening! Yay!!!

Slowly but surely I WILL do this!!!!

Getting Serious About Losing the Weight

I’ve had enough! This weight has got to go! I’m committing to eating well, and working out at least 5 times per week. I’m doing a low fat, low cal, but high in “good carb” diet. I’m working out using my elliptical machine, and my workout videos: Yoga Booty Ballet, Turbo Jam, also as the good weather approaches I’ll be trying to get out and about more going for walk and taking my 4 kids to the park.

I hope to update often with what I’ve eaten and what I’ve done for excercise, plus any other thoughts as they pertain to my diet.
